Uva Ursi–#AtoZChallenge

uva ursi
The flower for today is uva ursi, commonly known as bearberry.  Uva ursi is an old folk remedy–and is still used–for healing problems with the kidney and bladder.  It’s also supposed to be relaxing and nutritious.  It can also be externally to cleanse wounds. I often use herbs, but this is not one that I know personally.  But it sounds quite lovely.  It’s called bearberry because it is a favorite food of bears.  But people can eat it, too.
That’s all I know about uva ursi, except I like it’s graceful pink flowers that are shaped like urns.
And as this has been a long, busy day, that’s all for now (but at least I finished my daily drawing–that was a victory!).
