Shore of Shattered Dreams

I’m still sorting through the stuff I brought home from my storage space.  Lots of old papers and artwork–mine and my daughters, mostly.  I remember some of them and others look totally unfamiliar.  There are a lot from what my ex-husband (and current friend) calls my Writing on Paintings Period–which perhaps I’m still in, since I’m writing and illustrating.  Many of my old paintings are of fiery women–lots of red, but I came across a couple of sad ones, and for some reason, want to share them with you.
One is called “The Shore of Shattered Dreams”  It was rolled up for a long time, so it has a couple rocks to hold it flat.FullSizeRender 6.jpg
This is what it says–“Even the rocks were weeping.  he put it into a bottle, stuffed a cork into it, and threw it out to sea.  Thought he was finally rid of it, only to look down and find his dream laying at his feet.”
I also found this one, that was inspired by a photo, although I don’t remember from where.  It’s done it oil pastel–the other one, I think, is done in watercolor, or maybe gouache.

Not much to say about these–hope you enjoy looking at them.  I’ll share some of the flaming women another day.
Thanks for stopping by.
