What do you take on your vacation?

Ok, I’m already on vacation, but I ran out of time to write this before I left.  There’s one more recipe coming, too, maybe tomorrow, that I made before I left.
Because this year is dedicated to pursuing my writing/artistic work, plus rest, relaxation and fun, I wanted to have all my essentials with e on my 6 week trip.  My computer, of course, is essential, but I also wanted to bring some art supplies and some spinning/handwork supplies.

So, I carded some wool/sari silk fiber/firefox fiber on my drumcarder.  I’m still not sure i I’m using it right, but what comes out the other side is fine, so I guess it’s good enough.

I also wanted to bring some art supplies, but not too much, since I have to carry it all, on a plane, a bus and a ferry, for sure.  So I brought my sweet little set of travel watercolors, given to me by a friend many years ago, along with some gouache to add more colors, a pen, extra cartridges (I prefer my dip pen, but didn’t want to travel with bottles of ink), a few brushes, a pencil and eraser.  And a camera.  It all fit in a nice little package (except the sketchbook/journal and watercolor paper), so I was quite pleased with myself.

Oh, and I did pack a few clothes, toiletries, medicine, etc.  I didn’t bring enough wool to make a new wardrobe and watercolor paint wouldn’t provide enough coverage, especially in the rainy season.
Oh, and I also finished the yarn that had been on my wheel for a few weeks before I left, so I was happy about that, too. (This is an excuse to put in a photo of the new yarn)

That’s it for now.  I have homework to do!
Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I’m not sure that’s true, but thanks! I’m trying to make the most of this time.
