Zest: 1. great enthusiasm and energy.
2. the outer colored part of the peel of citrus fruit, used as flavoring.
Here’s to a zesty end to the A to Z blogging challenge
We’re coming to the end–the day for .
Many thanks to the A to Z Team [2019]: Arlee Bird (founder) @ Tossing it Out, J Lenni Dorner (captain) @ Blog of Author J Lenni Dorner, Zalka Csenge Virág @ The Multicolored Diary, John Holton @ The Sound of One Hand Typing, Jayden R Vincente @ J R Vincente Erotica Writer, Jeremy Hawkins (graphics) @ Hollywood Nuts.
Z is another one of those tricky letters
When I think of the letter “z”, I think of zebras and zithers (even though I realized that I didn’t even know what a zither looking like).
I thought about writing about “zaftig” and the joys and struggles of being a curvy woman–but I just didn’t feel like getting into it just now.
I also thought of silly, onomatopoetic words like zoom (although I prefer vroom, myself), zigging or zagging or zipping.
But I decided to write about zest
I was thinking more about zest for life– enthusiasm and energy. Personally, I have plenty of the former, but not always enough of the latter. But I also like thinking about a zesty life being like a piece of candied orange peel-sweet, but a little sour/bitter, with a little sugar crystally texture to it–but soft on the inside.
And I did find this quote from Bertrand Russell that kind of ties them together:
What hunger is in relation to food, zest is in relation to life
And so good night unto you all—
After a day filled with zest,
rest is best
so off to your nest
is what I suggest.
Thanks to all you blossoming souls who have stopped by! I wish you zest and rest. And if you want to begin again–you can go back to A is for allowing, action (and avoidance).
xoxo
