echinacea copy

Echinacea is one of my favorite flowers.  I have used it medicinally in the past, but mostly I like it as a flower in my garden.  The flowers are big and beautiful and last a long time.  They also attract bees and butterflies.  I love to watch them buzzing/fluttering around these flowers on a lazy summer morning (being a teacher, I do get some lazy summer mornings–one of the perks)

That’s my flower for the letter:

And as always, thanks for stopping by.

I am a writer, handworker, artist and teacher (a WHAT!), and a mom of two beautiful daughters who are amazingly 17 and 21. I am working on getting my first book, a fantasy novel for young people, published and am busy spinning on my new spinning wheel. I have been a Waldorf early childhood teacher for 10 years now, and before that, I was a lawyer. Teaching is much more fun.

    • Hi Laura, they do look like daisies, at least the petals do, but the centers are usually cone shaped–they’re also called cone flowers. Thanks for your kind words.
