What am I passionate about

I read somewhere recently that you should blog about what you know, about what you are passionate about.  So I asked myself–what is that for me?  And I came up with 2 lists–the things I am passionate about and know at least something about as evidenced by how I live my life and the things I wish I was passionate about.

First list–what I am passionate about:

1.  Cooking

2.  Stories–writing and reading–especially fairy tales and archetypes

3.  Teaching–adults and young children

4. Fiber arts

5.  Organizing.

6.  Meditation and life as a spiritual path

7.  Friends and family and the relationships between people

Not necessarily in that order.

Things I wish I were passionate about–or the maybe, someday list

1.  Art journalling

2.  Cleaning my house

3.  Politics

4,  Fashion

Well, the second one is very short, but in my imaginary life, I spend a lot of time creating art in journals and otherwise in an immaculately clean house, dressed in beautiful clothing untouched by art supplies or cat hair, with short breaks for going to rallies or circulating petitions.  Its not that I don’t care about politics, its just that I don’t spend a lot of my time on it.

Anyhow, I will think on this–maybe I should start an art journal to work through some of these ideas.  I could post the pictures….

I am a writer, handworker, artist and teacher (a WHAT!), and a mom of two beautiful daughters who are amazingly 17 and 21. I am working on getting my first book, a fantasy novel for young people, published and am busy spinning on my new spinning wheel. I have been a Waldorf early childhood teacher for 10 years now, and before that, I was a lawyer. Teaching is much more fun.
