Once upon a time, what a wonderful way to begin. I love reading fairy tales. And I love new beginnings, like beginning a blog. I recently read the Grimm’s story entitled, “The Spindle, the Shuttle, and the Needle.” The poor girl is spinning in her house when the prince comes by looking for a bride. After he leaves, the spindle jumps out of her hand unwinds its way to the prince, who follows it back to her and, of course, marries her. I am not looking for a prince, although I am a happily single spinner (of both yarn and stories) …But really, I think of the prince more as my future coming to meet me as I keep on spinning.
susanbruck I am a writer, handworker, artist and teacher (a WHAT!), and a mom of two beautiful daughters who are amazingly 17 and 21. I am working on getting my first book, a fantasy novel for young people, published and am busy spinning on my new spinning wheel. I have been a Waldorf early childhood teacher for 10 years now, and before that, I was a lawyer. Teaching is much more fun.
